3 Tips for Personal Trainers to Build a Social Media Brand Community
What is a brand community?
A brand community comprises a brand’s most dedicated and loyal followers. These brand-loyal followers are not just people who repeatedly purchase your product or service; it goes far beyond that. They are highly engaged with your brand, and they demonstrate that through actions like following you on social media, engaging with you on social, and sharing your products with their following.
Why is it important?
As personal trainers, building a brand community on social media can be a powerful tool for your business. Building an engaged brand community is essential because it cultivates long-term relationships with your clients. And long-term client relationships mean repeat purchases, which means more success for your business. As personal trainers, repeat business of loyal customers is critical because it takes time to make a change and see results, so you can’t be successful without keeping your clients coming back. Having a solid social media brand community that can vouch for you and wants to advocate for your brand will differentiate you and put you above the rest.
3 Tips
Engage: I know this one may seem obvious to some, but it’s still worth highlighting. Social media platforms are designed to be social, so you have to think of them as a two-way street. For example, many personal trainers see social media as a platform where they share, but they don’t engage and interact. So, instead of just posting a piece of content, post a piece of content and respond to the reactions, like comments, answer questions, reply, visit their profile, etc. Furthermore, design your content to make people engage: posts that they want to save for later or captions with questions to drive conversations.
Community Driven Content: Create content inspired by your community. Your following is an excellent source of content ideas! You can review comments and questions people have asked and respond to those in posts if you see a trend. Another source of inspiration is finding what your community is talking about, sharing, following, and then creating from that.
User-Generated Content: User-generated content is an excellent source of content that you should be taking advantage of! One, user-generated content is great because there is less work for you. And second, it’s great because you feature your loyal customers, making them feel good and more dedicated to you and your brand!
Takeaway
If you’re a personal trainer and you haven’t started thinking about how you can leverage your social media platform to build a stronger brand community, then now is the time! Building a strong brand community will enable you to make more loyal customers and take your business to new heights.
